More From The 100 Day Project... This is So Much Fun!

I've been making art every day since April 6th.  To read more about this cool project, go here.

I love playing with paper, always have!

Here is a cute little postcard where I utilized a copy of my favorite paper doll when I was a little girl.  I actually had many, but this one was my favorite.

And speaking of favorites, I love this face and use her a lot in my artwork.  She has such a playful way about her.

Lastly, I just had to share this adorable card that I received.  I LOVE it when I receive a card that has "me" written all over it.  This one is so perfectly suited for me!

Have a great day!

And by the way, for those of you who know me and Phoebe, this is NOT Phoebe Genevieve.  This is in fact her best boyfriend, Jingle Monroe. They look similar but Jingle has big Spaniel eyes and Phoebe has a little pink eraser nose.

Here they are together!

Thanks for stopping.  I'd love to hear from you so please leave me a message.
Have a great day!

The 100 Day Project

I've joined in with all the other creative folks to have fun with The 100 Day Project!  Check it out here. I will posting to Instagram mostly, so please follow me here.

Below are a couple mixed media collages I've made to contribute!  It's a lot of fun... no rules.. just have fun and be creative!

You don't have to make actual tangible "art," you can come up with your own cool idea to do 100 things.  These are great examples!  For me, it will be making 100 new pieces of art in any format.  So I am keeping it broad to allow myself to actually make it happen!  This includes, jewelry, painting and collage, taking photos, making cards, sewing for Phoebe... you get the idea!

Hope you're having a wonderful day.

Cheers!

A Spirited Journey for the Soul at Make Art in LA on June 13th

I'm excited about the class I will be teaching at Make Art in LA on June 13th.  I've been creating some more pages and reworking a few as well.  Sometimes I walk away, or "sleep on it" and then new ideas come to mind.  I embellished these two a little more (from my last post) and I now I think they complete.

I love the little honey bee's umbrella.

All the 4x6 cards are safely held in a pretty handmade suitcase.

Thanks for stopping by!

The Hottest Day of The Year so Far Was the Day Holly Spent 12 hours at the Flea Market...

I need to get a t-shirt made that reads, I Survived the Melrose Trading Post in 93 Degree Weather! This picture was taken about 8am so it was actually really nice out.  Around 1030am it really started heating up and never cooled off.  It was a very long day.  I learned a lot about flea markets vs. arts and craft/mixed media fairs.  Let's just say that I'm going to stick with the crafty venues!

The day before I vended at the flea market, I decided I wanted to plant some cute succulents in vintage containers.  I found these French mustard pots at a local thrift store and really enjoyed putting everything together. I wouldn't have been too upset if they didn't sell because I really loved how they turned out.  But they sold!

The skirt I'm wearing up above is one of the easy-peasy "pillowcase" styles I found on Pinterest. Just two pieces of fabric sewn together.  I made a matching top too!  When worn together it just looks like a dress.

Hope you're all staying cool... or warm wherever you are in the world.
Cheers!

Altered Books Through The Years

Fabric Bride Book to hold special trinkets and cards

I've designed so many altered books and journals through the years. Here is a small collection of my favorites.  Some I kept and some I gave away.

Fabric Audrey Hepburn book

Paper and fabric French skinny book

An Artfest 2007 Journal that I kept before and during my Artfest experience in Port Townsend, WA.

A great idea of what you can do with tiny fabric dolls

My Dog round robin book

My Marie Antoinette round robin book

Paper Doll round robin book utilizing copies of Mom's 1940's paper dolls

And... last but not least the first altered book I had published in Stampington's Gallery Magazine called, Paris Dreams.

My wild imagination continues to thrive! I'm working on a new class that I'll be teaching in 2015.

Thanks for looking.

Cheers,
